You follow posts in the newspaper every day. You look for a time traveler. One day you have an answer.
You have never told a soul about your quest for an ancient time traveller. You have not told your family or friends, or even your partner. But you have now started to get suspicious, and you decide to tell your best friend, who is a psychiatrist. She says that time travel is not possible, that you are not crazy, but she has some words of comfort. She tells you that time travel will take a lot of dedication. It will require a lot of thought and research. “You will have to make sure you get it right,” she says. “You will have to be very careful.”
You think about this for a few days and decide to go ahead with the experiment. You have already made preparations for the journey. You have already packed your bags. You have made arrangements to move into an apartment that is about to be demolished. You have even readied the deposit for the apartment. You have been waiting for the right opportunity to tell your family and friends.
In late October you tell your parents you have a job offer in Sweden. You tell them you will leave in a week. You spend the week getting everything ready. At the last minute you decide to tell your mother and father. They are very surprised, but they still don’t fully believe you. “You are the best person we know,” says your mother. “But this is impossible. It is too risky. How do you know you will not get stuck in the past?”
“I know I won’t,” you reply. “But I will have a friend with me, someone who can help us.”
“What about your job?” your father asks. “What if you get stuck in the past? What will we do?”
“Don’t worry,” you reply. “I will be fine.”
“What if you get stuck in the past?” your mother asks again. “What will we do then?”
“I will find a way to get back,” you say. “We will go together.”
The week of your departure is long and full of excitement. You take a lot of pictures of everything that will remind you of your time in the future. You call a taxi to take you to the airport. Your mother and father give you a hug. They have been worried. They have been crying all night. “It will be okay,” they say, as the taxi drives away. “We will be here for you.”
“I know,” you reply. “I’m just very excited.”

The taxi driver is nervous when you reach the airport. He tells you it is his first time driving you to Sweden, and he has never been there before. You reassure him, and you tell him what kind of place Sweden is. You describe the people you hope to meet, and the things you hope to do.
“This is a very important journey,” you tell him. “This is the first step to finding an ancient time traveller.”
“It is very dangerous,” he replies. “I have never been this far.”
“It will be fine,” you say. “I have done a lot of research.”
You arrive at the airport and check in. You sit down at your seat and decide to have a coffee. You are very nervous. You feel a pain in your head.
