It’s a sunny day so you are in the park on a bench. Suddenly a stranger sat next to you.
You both look at each other and smile. The stranger starts to speak in a southern accent.
“Do you like my dog?” “Yes, I do.” “I also have a parrot.” “A parrot?
What do you feed it? “” Chicken. “” A parrot that eats chicken?
It’s cute. “” Yes.
He’s cute.
He’s green. “The stranger continues to speak in the southern accent,” Do you like green? “You just sat there dumbfounded.
After a few minutes the stranger said, “Do you know where I can get a cheap parrot?” “Yeah, the pet store.” The stranger then asked, “Do you like love?” “Yeah, I do.” “Well, do you like love too?” “Well, sure I do.” The stranger then said, “Do you like hugs?” “Of course I do.” “Well, do you like hugs?” “Yeah, I do.” “Well, do you like hugs?” “Yeah, I do.” The stranger then said, “Do you like a good hard spanking?” You laughed so hard you fell out of your chair.
We had a great time and were back in the park in no time.
I did manage to capture a few shots of the stranger and his parrot.
Here they are.
I was able to get a few more pictures but they were more of the back of his head and his parrot.
As a side note, I was wearing an Arizona Wildfire shirt when this took place.
The person we bought the parrot from also has a parrot that is green, that you feed a mixture of grapes and peaches.
If you haven’t noticed yet, there are two things about this man that have nothing to do with him taking a picture of a child.
The first is that he was wearing a tank top.
The second is that he was wearing a mesh hat.
You can have one or the other. But not both.
And since this is a public park, it is the responsibility of the parents to be sure that their child is not taking pictures with strangers in public places.
And if they are, then you need to speak with them.
The parent has no choice.
They are the parents.
It is the law.
The father’s obligation to the child is the law.
I know it may be hard to get upset when you see a random stranger take a picture of your child, but this could be the first time they are seeing that parent’s face.
Let them explain why they let it happen.
But they will have no choice.
Even if it is just to shut you up.
You need to be prepared for that.
Because your children are their own person.
Not yours.
They don’t owe you the world.
And they don’t owe you their life.
When in doubt, ask.
Because the second you don’t ask, your child may be the one that gets hurt.
That is something that you do not want to see.
And that is something that you will never forgive yourself for.
The father will have no choice but to defend his child.
And if he does not, you will have no choice but to let the father know.
I am sure he will be none too happy with you for accusing him of something so foolish.
That is the first lesson I learned.
Ask.
And if the answer is no, you know what to do next.
You were sitting on a park bench, enjoying the sun, when a stranger sat next to you and started typing on an old fashioned typewriter.
You looked over at him, intrigued, wondering what he was doing.
You couldn’t tell if he was writing a story, or just practicing.
You smiled to yourself.
He didn’t seem to be very old, maybe even young.
He had a kind of friendly expression on his face, and you felt like you could trust him.
“Hello,” you said as you approached him.
“I’m sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if I could ask you a couple questions?”
“Of course,” he said, looking at you with a smile.
“What’s your name?
And what’s your story?
I’d like to hear all about it.”
“My name is Tim and I’m from the future,” you began, telling him everything that had happened to you in the last ten years.
“I’m twenty – five now and I’m in love with my girlfriend, Leslie.
I’ve had a job as a journalist, writing about what’s going on in the world and trying to be the voice of the people.
