She is shy and calm. One day something changed and she started wearing colorful clothes. She became brave and self-confident.
A habitually fearful person turns brave.
A man who can’t face his fears transforms them into talents.
Let go of all you are holding back.
Let go of everything you’ve ever been afraid to let go of.
And as you let go, let it all fall away.
Then you’ll be free.
The last time we went to the St. George temple we had our dear friends and fellow missionaries from our mission in Utah with us.
Brent and Kelly were with us and we were so grateful for their company.
Brent was a good friend of ours, and his parents had lived in our ward.
We went on a tour of the temple grounds and Brent, Kelly, and I sat together on a bench and talked.
I told him about my fear.
“I just can’t bear to go in the temple.
I’m afraid I’m going to die there.”
Brent and Kelly looked at each other in astonishment.
Then Brent said something that changed my life.
“Sarah, you can’t die in the temple.
God is watching over you.
He’s not going to let anything happen to you.
That’s the whole point of the temple.
It’s to keep you safe.”
“You are a liar. I’m not tired. I’m sick. Don’t make me beg. I don’t know what you want from me.”
“I need to hear you say you want to have sex with me.”
“I’m not sleeping with you tonight, and I don’t care what you do to me.”
“I don’t want to do it in the office. I want it in your bed. I want to hear you call me ‘honey’ and say you love me.”
“Why don’t you say anything?”
“If I tell you to do something, you’re going to do it.”
“I can do anything to you I want, and you’re going to do it.”
